At one week old:
weight: 7 lbs 11 ozs - 50th percentile
length: 21" - 90th percentile
head: 14" - 75th percentile

Can you believe a McCoy-Smith is 90th percentile for height??!!

Baby Jane and Baby Madelyn. Do they look alike?

Madelyn Louise McCoy made her debut with the Real McCoys August 4th at 12:27PM. She weighed 7 lbs. 15ozs. and was 20.5" long.

Julia's labor started at Chuckie Cheese. Thinking it was probably another false labor she also went to the grocery store, the bank, and got a pedicure that afternoon. Once she was home from the pedicure she finally laid down and started timing the contractions. They weren't regular but were definitely getting stronger. By the time Patrick got home from work she could no longer talk or walk through them, so it was time to go to the hospital. Once she was at the hospital she received pain medication and eventually got the epidural so she could rest through the night. The next morning it was time to push.... and push .....and push. Baby Maddy was in a posterior position or "sunny side up" which made pushing her out very difficult/impossible. Exhaustion took over after 4 hours of pushing so Julia was sent to the operating room for a c-section. Madelyn is a very healthy and beautiful girl. Julia is recovering from surgery very well. Patrick is taking care of the family along with Grammie and Grandpa McCoy. Jane was a little scared of the baby at first but is now starting to warm up to her. She gives her a lot of kisses and is always talking about "bebe." Check out the slideshow above for more pictures.

Mamaw and Cousin Autumn came to Minnesota to help the McCoys settle with their new baby.

Unfortunately the new baby was 6 days late and didn't arrive until 1/2 hour before they had to depart to catch their plane. In a desperate attempt to get the baby to come Autumn and Jane made her a birthday cake. Needless to say the birthday cake was eaten by the time she was born. On the last full day of their visit they all went to Chuckie Cheese which sent Julia into labor.
