Jane has been working on potty-training for about two months.

The beginning was a little difficult, but she eventually got it. Then there were a few weeks of relapse (her week of diarreah didn't help). Last week was accident-free and we are off to a good start this week, so far. She got a sticker every time she went potty and eventually they added up to a reward trip to "Chuckie Cheeseys." She had a great time playing with Daddy. When he took her to the bathroom there was a little boy using the urinal. She exclaimed "WOW, DAD!!" She cashed in her prize tickets for a sucker at the end of our visit. She loudly sucked all the way home and out of the blue said "thank you Mom and Dad." So sweet.

Madelyn's first eating experience didn't go so well so we are going to hold off for a little while.

Itty bitty has had a rough week. Monday night she woke up and got sick a few times. She had a fever and wanted to cuddle all night because she wasn't feeling well. This lasted through Tuesday. Julia just thought it was because of her shots but Tuesday night in the middle of the night Patrick and Julia woke to a horrble cough coming from the Bits. Julia took her to the doctor and found out she has croup. Poor thing :(. Even with the croup, the coughing, the diarreah lasting 3 weeks, and the awful diaper rash, she continues to smile constantly. That smile makes a week of sleepless nights all worth it.

Madelyn's first solid food.

She didn't dislike it, but she didn't really eat it either. She had recently had a bottle so she probably wasn't very hungry. She also got her shots today so I don't think she was in the mood for new things but she did seem to learn to open her mouth when she saw the spoon.

It is so hard for Julia to believe that Madelyn is 4 months old. She had her 4-month check-up today. Here are the results.

Height: 25" - 74th percentile
Weight: 13 lbs 5 ozs - 52nd percentile
Head: 42 cm - 76th percentile

She's grown 2" in two months. They think they weighed her wrong last time because her weight went down, which isn't possible.

Her first teeth are becoming visible below her gums. She hasn't been sleeping through the night for the last month so we gave her rice cereal tonight for the first time. What happened to our little newborn baby?? :(

Jane and Madelyn made Native American headdresses at school.

Itty Bitty's feathers are her own footprints. Real cute.

Julia has started her company, 6132 Interiors. (Our house is 6,132 feet above sea level)

So today was Jane and Madelyn's first day of daycare. Jane was excited to go to school. She kept telling Julia "I go to cool mommy" and "I nappy at cool mommy." She was so proud to carry her backpack filled with her blankie, lovey (CC Tiger), and pillow for naptime. Julia cried as she dropped them off and it's been a very long day for her wondering about her bunnies.

The trick-or-treat play-by-play:

Jane and Mommy would walk up to the door, ring the doorbell, say "trick or treat," Jane would take some candy until Mommy said "stop," and then Jane would turn around, point to the house across the street and say "THAT HOUSE!!"

The McCoys had a fun Halloween weekend.

Grammie made Jane a clown costume. Madelyn wore Jane's old angel costume (that Grammie also made) and a ladybug costume for the colder Halloween night. There were lots of Halloween festivities. Jane did a Halloween parade at the library, went to two parties, and then went trick-or-treating.
